Star is the newest up and coming city in  the Boise Metro area.  Located in Ada County, neighboring Canyon County with an estimated population of 20,000  in 2024.  With growth comes change and so many great things are coming!  A brand new Middle School has been built and was opened in 2018.  The elementary school got a huge addition and a new Pre-K next door.  And what town is complete with out a Dairy Queen?  That's right, we just got a Dairy Queen and several new dining options!  You will now find 3 grocery choices: Ridley's, Albertsons and the original, The Merc!  A new BiMart and a few tire centers have recently opened as well.   For events, people love to rent the Star Community Center or  the Star Barn as we call  it.   The new Star River House which is right on the Boise River is also a beautiful new venue for weddings, summer concerts, markets, and beautiful walks aong the river.  A small new lake has sandy beaches for picnicking,  a swim plat form,  plenty of space for paddleboarding, and fun fishing for the kiddos!  Star River Park and walking path is a 4.76 acre park, that can be entered from Star Road and runs right along the Boise River. It's full of nature trails and benches to stop for a break along the way. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the sound of the river while picnicking!  Let the kids throw in a line. 

 

Star has many outdoor recreational opportunities.  Being small, it still has the family friendly vibe with annual events like the Star Hometown Celebration-4th of July parade and fireworks.  Which is held at the new park or Hunters Creek Sports complex!  It is an 18 acre sports complex,  that  includes sports fields for adult and youth baseball and soccer, concession stands, plenty of picnic areas, and play equipment for the kiddos.  For the ones that like to scooter or skateboard, they have a new skate park.  Enjoy an evening with friends or family at movie night under the stars held at Blake Park, just across from the Star Elementary School.  If you like to golf, play a game or just hit a bucket of balls at the River Birch Golf  Course.  A new recreational park just opened off of Star Road & Hidden Brook Dr that has basketball and pickle ball courts, a splash park, and a dog park!​

Stop by Star Country Cafe for some delicious breakfast!  Or try El Mariachi Loco Restaurante for some great authentic Mexican food.  People say they have the best chips and salsa , great food and service!  Try the Sea Salt Creamery for some delicous home made ice cream and decadent deserts.  Boutique shopping at The Milled Olive! 

 

Star is growing and new businesses are coming!  Its a fun community with a small town vibe and hospitality you will love!
